1977 Door Panel Re Install Problem
Who ever had my car before me must have just yanked the door panel off the velcro type holders and never put it back correctly.
My drivers door panel is loose and is basically being held on by the pull handle.
On all of my other (steel) cars there are clips on the panels that pop into holes around the door, not the Vette.
My panel is real clean and I want to get it mounted back on correctly before it gets any damage. How is that done if the velcro type stuff is not grabbing?
Thanks
Jack

You will need to remove the door panel and check the fastners on the back of the door panel as well as the ones on the door frame. The ones on the back of the door panel often get loose or the material of the door panel (if original) can get wet / fiber board backing gets soft and velcro type fastner will fall off. I think there should be 4-5 fasteners as well as three screws that hold the door panel on. There will be two more screws holding the handle on as well. Depending on how good your door panel is you may not be able to hold it in place with just the velcro fasteners / I had to add one screw at the bottom of my door panel to hold it tight against the frame / the carpet trim at the bottom of mine (deluxe style) covers the screw so you do not see it. Check the cataloques for the screws and locations if you do not have them on yours now.
