Default Where can I get HD Side Yokes?

I was just ordering my drag vette kit and got everything I need except HD Yokes. He said it would take 6-8 weeks to get them . The only other place I can think of is van steel and if he drop ships them as well it may be the same story. Does anyone have any other ideas? I just need the Heavy duty yokes no caps or anything

The HD ones have been on back order for quite some time. I tried to get a set early winter and was told it will be a while. Never got them. Cancelled the order and got a set of Van Steels HD 1350 17 spline axles.

Gordonm has it right . Im a newb and was told to get the HD Yokes. Those 17 spline axles you got are they a direct replacement for yokes or what?

*Edit* I found this at Wilcox says its HD but im not too sure. I was told the HD yokes go for $250 a pop these are only $115 seems to good to be true.

Syco, Those are the HD yokes you are looking at on the site! They are new and there is no core required!

Those from Wilcox are just the standard units with the caps and not the extra HD units that go for 250 a pop. Yes the 17 spline ones Iam running are a direct fit into the carrier. They do mount the half shaft slightly different as the yuse the same flange tha tis on the outer spindle. No big deal you just have to press on the flange like you do for the spindles.

Duntov motors did not have them last time I checked. They were back ordered a few months. Duntov calls them Super duty units.

I actually started to twist the standard HD yoke at the splines with my setup. I am only running 409 RWHP and street tires and the drivers side one started to twist. That is why I was looking at the extra HD ones. I got mine from a forum member who bought the Van Steel ones but then went to a solid axle. They were still in the package.

Try sending Gary a PM (GTR1999). He might know where you can get some.

They will have the ones I am using but not the Extra HD units that look like the stockers. I think VS gets them from Toms. I may be mistaken on this but they look very similar.

Gordonm!

The yokes are not standards on the link he supplied! Yokes do not come with caps and in most cases you do not need to replace the caps.

Standard yokes do not have threads in the holes to accommodate the U bolts.

Heavy Duty Yokes have the Threads to accommodate the cap bolts.

Unless you are talking about some pooper dooper drag race yoke, I don't see a need for anything different.

However with the OP saying he just got his drag kit maybe he needs something larger than I carry. I'm not much up on the aftermarket h/p stuff.

Syco, this is the correct link for what you are asking for unless you are wanting something better than the stock HD yoke.

Willcox, Did not mean to offend and yes the ones you have are the standard HD units. I was assuming he wanted the extra HD yokes as those are the ones that have been on back order for months. The regular HD units like the ones you have are available. He does want the super duper drag racing yokes as he is going racing. The HD units are the ones that I twisted on my car.

Steve Those are the ones that are in my car now.

If you look on Duntovs page here you will see the HD units and the Super Duty units. The HD units are 109 vs the Super duty units are 249.

Gordon, that is what I figured. Looks like a nice setup at a reasonable price if you need new yokes anyway. Not there yet but getting there slowly.

Yup! I'd say so!

If you are drag racing this maybe a better choice. I've run cars with up to 550 h/p with the stock h/d yokes. My problem on one car was a snapped the spindle.

I’ve never ran a car that was tub’d out so I can only imagine this yoke would be for something like that. Again, I’m not up on my aftermarket stuff.

Gordonm,

You did not offend me, it was my ignorance on the aftermarket world!

I thought. . . Wait. . . I checked the picture before I posted and I was sure those were HD yokes. We need to get these other yokes a new name like. . Super Pooper Duper or something fancy.

The reason I knew about these is I just went through this and could not find the Super Duper pooper ones anywhere. I just put in a HD unit until the VS ones came up for sale here on the forum. I snapped them up quickly. I don't know who is making the Super ones but the demand is bigger than the supply right now.
