Hooker side mount header inserts
Little survey.
How many side mount inserts are there?
I've read about
A)Reverse flow
B)Max Flo
C) STS
D)Spirals
Are there more, what is the ranking in order of loudness? (decibels if someone has measured them)
I had reverse flows on my stock 270/350, and they sound like crap, and took whatever power I had away. Then installed the Max Flo's for a deeper louder tone, and noticeable power difference.
Now I have a 400+ 383, with the same Max Flo inserts, and they are twice as loud as they were before with the 350. So I want to tone it down, but not to the point where it loses its ballz.

I just finished my 76 with side pipes and did put the spiral baffles in it but with the capps off.
The engine is a 496 with a 8-71 blower and dual 950 hollies.
Sounds just right were you can at least talk to somebody in the car.
When you do step on it, it becomes louder.
But this one is my weekend driver.
