o-ring for 77 auto trans

o-ring for 77 auto trans
i need to replace the o-ring for the speedo cable that ties into the trans. i dont have the original since i'm using a electronic sender and i think the current o-ring is the wrong one anyways. trying to avoid buying 20 o-rings to see what works...
77 auto trans..... i'm sure it's a stock trans also...so what ever it is..

Take your sender to the o-ring store. Find one that fills the groove and sticks up over the sender a little. Usually, if a ring fills the groove correctly, the diameter will be correct for the seal.

If you’re talking about the seal in the housing where the speedometer gear is thats not an “O” ring, it is a cup seal. Any local non chain auto parts store should be able to match it up.

thanks... i was going to pull out my sender unit for my electrical speedo and thought an o-ring was supposed to be in there. i have to buy a new speedo cable anyways so i might see if i can get a whole kit for the original setup
