Suggestions for '81
First of all, my name is Aaron and I've been reading all kinds of topics on this forum for quite some time now but this is my first post. I have a stock '81 (auto) with the exception of hooker headers and side pipes and no smog equipment. The car has about 117k miles but the engine was rebuilt at 100k. I like the performance increase with the headers and sipe pipes, but I'd like more. I am stuck between getting a new crate motor (ZZ4 or ZZ383) or just upgrading the current 350 with a top end power package from either Edelbrock http://store.summitracing.com/partde...8&autoview=sku or Holley http://store.summitracing.com/partde...1&autoview=sku since it was just rebuilt and in excellent condition. I will also be installing a new transmission, probably the 200R4 stage II from Bowtie Overdrives. Staying original is not that important to me because my Vette will never be sold. What do you guys think is my best option? Thanks in advance for your help!
