Use some high strength Loc-Tite and stick the tube back in place. When they are new, it's a press fit into the block, but if someone removed it during its lifetime (engine rebuild?), then it will have lost its press fit.

Default Tube

You can repair your old tube by removing it from the engine and taking a tapered drift pin, hammer and expanding the end that goes into block to pan.Do it a little at a time until you have a firm fit, install tube with a block of wood and hammer as not to damage the upper end as you install the tube into the block.

My L81 has a bracket spot welded to it that bolts to the exh. manifold, but an '81 may be different.
