68 Brake Light Switch
Seems this switch goes out about every 3 yrs or so and they are expensive.
Anybody ever replace the brake light switch with one from a 67 or 69?
If so what brackets and hardware do I need?

You should be able to use or adapt any later year GM brake switch, about 8 bucks at any auto parts.

you have flushed the brake system right ?
only reason to go out is cheaply made, or Dirty brake fluid ?

Mounts to the pedal assembly.
Completely different than 69up but there was a writeup on this forum quite awhile ago showing how to adapt the newer plunger type switch to the 68.

You can convert to 69-up stryle but you will need the striker bracket and the switch mount bracket. Unfortunately your 68 pedal assembly is not drilled to mount the 69-up switch bracket.
This is the 69-up setup:

I don't know exactly how it works, but from the looks of the switch you could replace it with a whisker type switch from an industrial electric supply.

You can find them for less money. Just a thought.

Corvette Central part # 593034, 55.00. Seems to be a better cost option than NOS, depending on where it's made.
