Default Aftermarket seats

What's the max hieght and width for seats that can be placed in a 77 vette. If I had my car with me I would measure it, but being in the military I only see my car about once a year. So I try to tackle it one project at a time.

Thanks for the help. Pics would be awesome too.

The bottoms can only be 19-19.5 inches wide. The biggest problem after finding a narrow seat bottom is the shoulder support. Lots of newer seats are just too wide at the shoulder bolsters.

how about c5 seats? I got a pair for $200 a piece from a crashed c5 and used the old c3 tracks to bolt them to the floor. they are much more comfortable than the stock seats and are just as good quality as leather seats that are twice as expensive...

You can also use C4 seats.

I put '87 seats in my '65 but should work same in a C3.

Here is a write up on what I did Click Here

WOW, those seats look good in there. Nice write up as well.

I know Ive seen C3's with Corbeaus and those are pretty wide depending on which ones you get.

Corbeau CR1s or A4s will fit,, but with all the seating swaps, seat height is the limiting factor. They do however sell the floor to seat brackets that make the swap a breeze. If your over 5.10 the Corbeaus aren't for you. Generaly, later C3 seat are a bolt in. C4, C5 seats seem to fit, but need brackets. These are all very nice seats. I personaly like the Fiero seat swap with Mr. Mikes covers, liked them so much, i put a set in my Vette. You also have to fab up 2 steel plate brackets to fit them, but thier nice. 5.11 is about the height limmit on these. You can modify the corbeau bracket to get you to 6' with the Fieros though.

Corbeau CR1s:

Fieros: ( yes I blacked out the logo later, thank you )

^^^ Those Fiero seats lookin good and comfortable too RunningDude.
C5 seats have a great improvement also, a lot of forum members have done this.
But.... my 68 vert would look funny with the high backs IMO.
Has anybody installed the late C3 seats??????
Pics and comments????

Like I said, my 68 is a pain in the neck lololololol

Theres a guy on here with Celica seats as well, but I dont know what year of Celicas. There are a ton of aftermarket Celica seats on ebay that are very reasonably priced.

I have Celica seats in mine. I used the ones from the model years '00+. I dig my seats and they were easy as pie to install. I used an air hammer to knock the feet off the stock Celica tracks. Then I got some 2" wide 1/8" steel stock from Lowes and made new feet. They are welded onto the Celica tracks and have holes drilled in them to use the stock bolt locations. Mine cost $150 for the pair shipped off of eBay.

For those of you that put C4 or Fiero seats in your early C3. How comfortable are they after a 100-500 mile drive? The original seats wear me out after a full day of driving. Wondering if the C4 or Fiero seats would make the drive more bearable.

Can't speak for C4s, but the Fieros are super comfortable. they kind of hold you, center wise, the head rests only go up to about the center of the back of your head though. I would imagine, from looking at the C4 seats that they would be even better. The nice thing about the Fieros, in addition to the added support, is the reclining seat back, you can set it at any angle. Don't know about the C4s. I would suggest adding a pump up lumbar, if you reskin either seat, Corbeau sells one for 50. They'll sell it to you direct, you don't need to buy their seats. The original C3 seats are their horrible seats. period.

If I were looking into new seats I'd take a serious look at Mazda RX8 seats. I think they look awesome and are comfortable.

I used Corbeau A4's. A little too tall and really too wide also (and they aren't the wide version). They do look good and work great with the 5 pt.
