Since I couldn't find a 72 like I wanted with power windows, I decided to put that option on the car. However, I would like to know where the power window relay is suppose to be. I know it should have a circuit breaker in the fuse panel that powers the relay, but I don't know where the relay should be mounted or what it looks like ( I suspect under the radio, or shifter but don't know for sure). Can anyone help?
I suppose GM wanted the relay to open the main circuit when key was off, keeping heavy currents out of the ignition circuit....makes sense...anyway...
I just wired my windows direct to the battery circuit, 30 amp cartridge fuse, and had over with it...simpler that way....
On a 72, there is a circuit breaker under the hood at the driver's side beside the brake booster, and there is a relay under the console at the top driver's side.
