So my dash lights don't come on with the headlights and if I leave the lights on and turn the car off, no buzzer. I am assuming the issue is in the headlight switch. So I am wondering what exactly is involved in changing it? I haven't looked into it yet, but I am guessing that the plastic piece around it pops out with a flat head screwdriver and then the switch pops out via another screw? I am pretty sure it isn't a fuse because before the dash lights went out completely, they'd come and go.
Page 7 on this sheet will show and tell you how to get the switch out. The save way is thru the dash speedo tach housing. This page is for taking the dash pad out of the car but it also covers the wiper and headlamp switch.
Don't be fooled by a FUSE especially when it comes to buzzers.
Get a test light-touch each side of the fuse
Check the INST lamps fuse-its way up at the top of the fuse panel
Check the TAIL lamp fuse-it feeds the inst lamps fuse via the headlight switch
OK, thanks for the replies. I'll go back and double check fuses, cause if I really have to pull the dash out...I think I'll leave it be. I'd sure like to punch who ever thought up and under the dash was a good spot for the fuse panel.
I hope it is not the switch, big bucks last time I thought about changing mine.
The rheostat won't allow diming of interior dash lights.
they will work only on high setting of the ****.
