Default Electrical Problem

I just bled the brakes in my 77 and this is what happened when I lowered her of the stands and started her up. The turn signals no longer work period, and when I apply the brakes both turn signal indicators and outer turn signals lights turn on. I had a turn signal problem about a year ago, but it magically disapeared and everything went back to normal. Any suggestions on what I could do. Thanks

Sure sounds like you have a ground problem...You should also check your bulbs & sockets. This would probably be a good time to start cleaning & checking all your connections there is something corroded or broken some-place & when you jacked it up it may have twisted a bit & one of the grounds let go.

Thanks for the help, but i started reading old posts and saw that someone had the same problem as me. His hazard button had gotten pushed in so he pulled the hazard button out and everything work as normal. I gave it a shot and everything worked fine again. Wonder why my hazards don't work? oh Well.

Check directional flasher.......

I believe one is located on fuse box.....I think that is the one for the emergency 4 ways...the other is located behind lower dash pad on passenger side.

I believe I'm correct.. if not someone will correct me...

Good Luck, I hope this solves your problem.......

The hazard flasher lights use a different flasher unit than the turn signals. On my '69 it is mounted on the fuse block on the interior firewall, on the extreme left side. I would check that first.

check everything around the brake pedal...if you were bleeding the brakes old school style, your pedal operator may have gotten a little excited.
