Default 71 washer jar extension

I bought a washer jar extension labeled as 71-82 but it is not the correct part for my car and won't reach the mounting bracket on the fender. Paragon shows a drawing of what looks to be the correct part on page 116 of their catalog but I don't see a way to order it. It looks like I need a 70-74 washer jar extension but can't find anyone who has one. I emailed paragon about it but haven't heard back, anyone know where to get one?

I know I've seen what you're looking for and allow confirmation.

It's the extension, as shown here, correct?

Once confirmed, one of us will find a source and post a link or ... (please? LOL...)

Not sure but may have answered my own request, if the extension is the part you're looking for.

Mid-America shows PN 601-657 (scroll on this link):

Does that help?

The 71-72 & 73-74 washer bottle extensions were discontinued more than 15 years ago by GM and no one has repro-ed them yet. Your only option is a used one. The one listed in everyone's catalog is for 75-82.

71-72's (without AC as air cars used a bag, not a jar) used part number 3876541 extension and 73-74's called for extension number 334775. The only currently available extension is GM number 344810, which the Corvette parts book lists as 72-82 though it really is only correct for 75-82. I have a Sept. '75 parts book and it lists the 344810 as 72-76, and my Dec. '83 book lists it as 72-82, but both books still show the other 2 extensions (one as 71-72 and the other as 73-74). 344810 will only work with the 75 up tanks that had the pump in the bottom of the tank. The other 2 extensions work with the tanks that have a pick-up hose and a wiper motor mounted pump. I don't know why the GM Corvette parts books show the 344810 as 72 up, as it will not reach the to where the neck bracket should mount when used with a 71-74 bottle.

The one pictured at Mid-America is the later extension and will not work with the 71-74 washer tank, but it is the only one that I know of that is currently available.

I have one of these that I ordered from Ecklers...it is in my pile of parts that don't fit. Also in that pile is the lower left splash shield...not sure what it is for, but definitly doesn't fit a 1971.

As others have said, no one is re-poping the 71'. I had to reuse my old yellow looking one because I could never find the correct part.

Thanks for the replies, yeah I've got that one mid america shows, only I ordered it from volunteer, said 71-82 but it's not. I'm in Seattle, are there any corvette junk yards or other sources where I might try around here? My car didn't have the jar or extension in it, I bought the jar, still looking for the right extension and probably the longer pickup tube. Thanks for your help.

The pickup tube is just a hose so at least that part is easy. Someone started a thread about used parts vendors recently. Maybe one of those could help you out.
