About a mile from home, my vette started pulling to the left.
I babied it home and the drivers front rotor was smoking.
Autozone has the calipers in stock but doesn't have the pads.
They say two days for the pads. I'm going to see if 'Sebastian Auto' has them, but I doubt it. They're a smaller 'Mom & Pop' type store.
Do I need any special tools (star shaped or other) to change the rotors?
Or will a basic socket set do it?
Agreed, a collapsed rubber hose will cause the lock-up, replace those first. And yes that can be done with basic hand tools. The tricky bit is to get the system bled properly again.
Also check the cap for the Master Cylinder. I had the rubber seal start to disintegrate and clog up the line right out of the MC causing the rear brakes to lock up. A New MC and a good flush fixed it.
