When I hit the brakes, it's like stepping on a wet sponge. There's no servo on my '69 small block, but I've seen the unit on similar cars. How difficult a job is it to fit a servo and is it possible to fit power brakes with the standard calipers? Thanks.

Fitting a vacuum booster is difficult in that the bolts are very hard to access from under the dash. You can plan on spending an afternoon lying on your back cursing non-stop while installing one. Not sure if the Master Cylinder is different but it may not be. You will also have to tap and run a vacuum hose from the intake manifold to the booster. The brake lines can probably be finessed into the new position since the cylinder will be moved out several inches, or you can buy/fab new ones. The calipers are the same regardless. They master cylinder and calipers might need to be rebuilt also if you have a spongy pedal.
