Does anything happen when you flick the switch? You can go here for a wiring diagram http:www.nrjvette.com/johdotukset/?c=d;o=d or can you post a picture? PG.
no nothing seems to happen. Its has power in the light brown wire with ignition on and switch works tested is putting power to somthing but have no clue.Sems to feed that orange wire going under the car behind the motor?you cannot fit under or in these cars as good as a truck lol.Im slowly learning lol. Thanks again hoping somone can help.
I agree if you have electrical issues you need a diagram it will be money well spent.
DocRebuild has diagrams that are fantastic and make tracing wires a piece a cake.
If you have a TH400 automatic transmission, The tan wire that goes to the side of your transmission is for the kick-down or passing gear feature. USUALLY there is a switch which is mounted to the accelerator pedal bracket and has two wires going to it. SOMETIMES these switches go bad and I have seen some people have a switch set up for the kick down feature of the transmission that they can operate manually. Check to see if you have the switch bolted to the accel pedal bracket. IF not, then remove the tan wire from your transmission and run a continuity check and see if that is your wire. If this helped ...great...if not... keep us informed. Good photo's would be great also.

Thanks everyone tore out the console today found that the trans was changed to a overdrive. The switch on the pedal is there but not hooked up.The toggle is 4 the overdrive how sweet.got my power ant working as well.now just the windsheild washer pump got it out just have to replace it.Now another ??why does my pump have power in 1 wire all the time and power in the second wire when I push the wiper switch? Is this because of the car beeing fiberglass it has no grounds? And where can I get a rear bump stop rubber (travel stop for rear suspension)as my local gm and parts dealers cant get them? Thanks again guys great forum glad to be a part of it.PS at least the rest of the car is matching #s - the trans including the engine ran the #s they match the vin wow 210 hp.True L-82.cant wait.
