Default Warped hood??

We just bought our first corvette, in fact I have not even owned a "car" since 1984, we have only had trucks. The car is a 81 red, 4 speed. The hoods sets fine everywhere but in the front center, it is low about 1/4" at the point. Could this be warped? Allan

You will usually have fitment issues with the C-3 hoods. Someone on the forum may have a remedy for your situation. I see you are from Indiana also, I have an L-88 style hood that fits 78-82. I bought it for my 75 but the 75 has a different latch setup. If interested $300.00 will buy the hood, Hood is in primer ready to paint.

Welcome to the Forum. In general, the body parts of the C3 Corvettes didn't fit very well. 70's quality! My 71' hood sits 1/4" high in the center and my 78' is about an 1/8" low. It could also be the headlight surround being to low in the center. If the hood lines up every where else, there's not much you can do with it.

There is a support rod in the center of the hood surround at the front of the hood opening. It has some up and down adjustment. Take a look at that. It goes from the radiator support to the headlight header bar.
