Default knocking on a new 385 engine

i have a knock in my engine and am wondering if it's the crank hitting the pan or something else. has anybody heard of a crank hitting a pan

I suppose it's possible on a stroker motor.

Yes it can happen with a stock pan and a stroker crank. You can *feel* it if you put your hand on it while running. Often right behind the balancer area.

I've seen this very commonly for a 383 where a little "bump" with a ball peen hammer is required for clearance.

When you say 385 - is this a GMPP crate engine? Just asking as that engine is 350 CID with a 3.48 stroke...

no it's not a gmpp just a stroked out 350 im going to end up pulling the motor out so i will let u guys know what it is
