Over the winter I rebuilt my ST10 to fix some wear issues. The rebuild appears to have been a success, but I'm left with a few questions.
1. I have a problem with popping out of first occasionally. Visual inspect shows that the ring appears to be engaged fully which I have it on the bench. Perhaps it is a little stiff and I need to play with the adjustment some more?
2. On the input shaft, I noticed some play that the cap may address. I have a picture:
I have a T-10 under the bench that was "rebuilt" and the same problem you have.I know they did something wrong, haven't pulled it apart yet to see what they forgot or did wrong.
Thanks. Perhaps someone will chime in with some experience. I don't mind tearing the unit apart again since I have it out, but I think we'd both like some idea of what we should be looking for, otherwise we may overlook it.
I actually have the overhaul book for this year, so I was pretty careful on reassembly, but that doesn't mean I did it right either. I might be the Bubba in this case.
