Brakes and Cragers
I want to upgrade my brakes on my 79 and get rid of the spacers that I have for my Cragars. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can do it?

I had the same problem, I used a grinder to the outside face of the caliper and took a small amount of meterial off, then painted the caliper wirh caliper paint from any auto store and replaced the wheel. All is good now. Hope this helps.

Get whatever "upgrade" brake system and then try your wheel. If it does not work you may look into having custom adapters made for you that will replace the spacers you have now. OR maybe look into the adapters FIRST to see how thin they can make them. VB&P sells the ones when you put 16" corvette wheelsa on your car. Maybe they can help you. I have been through this a LOOOOONG time ago when Cragar s/s wheels were the "thing". It was always a pain in the rump dealing with those spacers. I FEEL your "pain".
