Default What 5 speeds bolt in?

I saw a list on here somewhere of what GM 5 speeds would bolt up to a 350. Can somebody help me out. I have my body off and want to do the switch before putting the body back on. Should I cut my cross member and make it removable while I'm at it? Thanks, Chip

The tremec 500 and 600 are the most common but not the only ones that can work. They are avalable in Kit form. Most of the others need a bit more Modification but are not that much more difficult to install.

Default Bolt in trans.

Richmond Gear 5 and 6 speeds will bolt in with the crossmember in the original spot. I have put both in 73 and 80 C-3. I prefer the 6 speed because of the better range of gears and overdrive 6th gear. And yes, it would be good to make the crossmember removable if you ever want to take the trans out with the body on the frame.
