bonding adhesive
While doing my restoration of my '69 coupe I noticed that the tops of the fenders had separated from the bird cage. This is the area under the lower windshield trim that is curved and about 5 inches long on either side just under the windshield posts. Can anyone recommend a bonding adhesive that is strong and will bond fiberglass to metal. I just need a small amount.
thx

3M8219, However you are only seeing the top of the Ice- berg !
under that area is exactly where the bird cage startes to rust badly.
I would inspect and clean that area really well before just glueing it back together.
I would expect this area to be addressed on a restored car.
You have to remove the firewall to see the birdcage area like this. 69VETT

This restoration was a body off and have seen every inch of this car.
Fortunately there was no rust below the area to be bonded. I had put
silicone sealer above the old adhesive by chance, 34 years ago and
now glad I did it. By the way the body was put on a dolly and was just
a fiberglass shell. rust was minimal on this car.
thx
