Oil Pan sealant

Simple question. When installing a new oil pan with cork/rubber seal, do you use ATV sealant? if so, do you apply it on both sides of the seal? I have an oil leak on the starter side of the engine,but everything looks tight.

Do yourself a favor and ditch the cork / rubber gaskets. Get the felpro one piece gasket, You won't have any leaks

Use RTV sealer at each spot where the rubber and cork meet (4 spots).
If everything is flat and clean, you wont need to use RTV anywhere else.

i use RTV. Also, if you want to save your self a little work (potentially) you might try locating the leak and plugging it with RTV and not pulling the engine up to remove the pan. It's definitely a cutting corners fix...
