Default Engine RPM's Increase When Brake is Applied

Any idea what would cause my rpm's to increase when I apply the brake in neutral while idleing? I thought maybe my brake booster was shot but my brakes are actually working great..

Its a temporary vacuum leak while the booster is refilling.

So thats normal because it will continually do that if I keep pressing on the brake. The increase is about 200rpm.

I would suspect a bad booster causing a massive air leak.

FWIW: I have power brakes in my two. Neither surges as described.

I agree that it is not a normal condition and a vacuum leak is
appropriate diagnosis.

Time to check the hoses and fittings.
