Now thinking that the fuel that is being dumped by the Qjet into the engine at idle is due to too high fuel pressure.
1. Is 7.5 to 8 lbs too high for the qjet?
2. I have a new Paragon A.C. Delco pump - do I replace the pump keep the car stock looking and try to get a 6 psi pump? and if so how do I guarantee I get one at 6psi.
3. Do I just install a regulator and be done with it?
Don't know what you've done so far to determine this, but a sticking carb float can cause same. Most needle & seats will tolerate a few extra lbs pressure without dumping. If all is well with carb, and you want to regulate press, install regulator.
