Dave,
Thanks! very cool setup on your C3, pretty much what I want on my C2, except i plan to put the '64 grill in front of them..
Do you have any night time photos that show how well they light up the road? I am curious how the low height affects the total throw distance of the light. A driver's perspective photo would be awesome..
Gene. It was a consideration when I did it. We don't have inspections here and locals see at as an exotic specialty vehicle. Tinted lenses will cover them soon.
Dave
Please post pictures when lens are done. I as well as many here on the forum look foward to seeing them. Thanks for sharing a great build Dave.
Hey Mikey... sorry man, didn't forget you, but it will be a few days before I can get any light throw pics. I'm installing the interior of the car right now. Lots of loose ends.
It's slow going like everything else for me these days. Not making excuses but trying to work while putting up with cancer is taking its toll. Also trying to chase gremlins under the hood as the dash and computer wiring comes together. The cancer is in my gut but I swear its starving brain cells when I'm reading schematics.
I better leave it at this or I'll get bumped for hijacking the thread. :o

just checkin! interior lookin good! you're the only one i know of whos put those lights down low, same height i want to on my C2 so i'll just have to wait patiently until you get a chance to shoot me a photo of the light spread or make comment on how you feel driving with them at night (do you feel they provide sufficient forward coverage or does their low position really hinder how far they can light up the road?)
hey Dave, just my bi-monthly check-in to see if you were able to get any photos at night yet.. my car should be done body/paint this week and so i'll be into final assembly soon! still thinking I want to go same route as you with headlights, but want to make sure their low position still gets sufficient light down the road!
I'm sorry Mikey but things just keep getting worse. We finally brought in Hospice to try to help get my pain under control and hopefully help me get enough strength to actually get something accomplished on the project. At the moment I'm not too hopeful but I refuse to give up on finishing this beast. Glad to hear yours is progressing, don't let mine slow you down.
Hey Chris at McSpeed--I want to do your electric conversion this winter, have you tried these with your package yet?
Interesting you mention this kit. I have Chris's electric conversion kit, have had it for the past few years and its great. The best part of this kit is you can actually put a stop in the linkage whereever you want and the lights will stop going up. I used a corvette module and firebird motors. The vette module actually senses resistance when the linkage hits the stop and shuts the motors off. This setup would allow you to adjust the height of the lights then you'd just have to figure out the original locking linkage that locks the lights when they're at your set full extension.

Yeah Dave, I've been looking forward to seeing the outcome and light throw on your setup for a little bit now. I used to follow your progress through your web page, but lost track of it in the constant computer crashes and OS "upgrades". Last I saw you wee making your hood, it turned out really nice! I have been toying with the idea of mounting my quad HID's in the lower grill area, but wasn't sure of the output (don't really care about the legal side of it, really). Then I saw yours, and I've been patiently waiting since.... It's always nice when you can have someone else test the waters first. The car looks awsome though, just awsome!
