Default Temp. Gauge Not Working

Noob here, so sorry if this is too easy. I just had some front suspension work done and during the drive home from the shop I noticed that my water temp. gauge was not working. Is there anyway that something could have been bumped/disconnected/jarred loose, or is this just happenstance? It doesn't seem to me that they would have been close to anything related to the temp. gauge.

For the record, it was working when I dropped it off and if it matters, it's a 1974 with L-82. Thanks.

The temp sender is in the left hand cylinder head, right above the steering box. Possibly the mechanic knocked the wire off. Easy fix.

Yea, the temp sender is in the left head between the #1 and #3 plugs. If the wire was knocked off, just put it back on. If not trace the wire along the fender and see if it is broked somewhere. My wire is zip tied to the alternator harness.
