I've seen a hundred of these over the years but I don't know what size they are. You might post this in C1-C2. I'm sure someone there will have one they can measure.

Ecklers has them. See below. I would think you could align the two hole halves and then use a drill as a plug guage to measure the size needed if you didn't want to buy them. If my memory serves me correctly I think mine are tapered for the first half of the length.

If you still want to know dia and length I can go out to the garage and pull one out and measure it.

I wouldn't mind buying them If I had other stuff to order for the car. But I hate to bang the customer more for shipping than the cost of 4 pins. So I thought I'd just fire up the lathe and spin them out. In hindsight maybe I 'll just order 4 sets so i have spares on hand the next time a car comes in with NO SAFETY PINS

Thanks

Tim

Go to hardware store and buy either a #12, #14 or #16 nail, don't try to turn a part on a lathe. You can also get stainless steel fixture pins at a machine tool supply house in the proper diameter but, offhand I can't remember what it is, get the nail and measure it. Nail should work fine for that application.

Using a nail sounds like a good idea. Just make sure it's something that won't rust and is a loose fit in the hole. It needs to be long enough to grab with a pair of pliers or channel locks to pull it out but short enough not to hit the center cap. The bead to bead dimension on my wheels is 8" so I'm assuming they are 8" wheels. Overall width is 8 1/2".
