Default This is how you install a Line Lock

This how I installed my line lock. It's the TCI roll control line lock from Summit Racing.

All I did was pick up from AutoZone one straight thread to flare brake line brass block as the input & one 90 degree brass thread to flare and a 6 inch flare tubing. Take the LLock with you to make sure that you get the correctly threaded brass fittings.

You take the front brake line off of the master cylinder and hook it into the LL output 90 degree brass. After using teflon tape to install the two brass adapters. I gently bent the tubing 90 degrees in my hands and attached it to the TCI selenoid block and the Master cylinder.

The lines are stiff enough that no mounting is required. Mine has been in place for 8-9 years without a problem and 100's of smokey burnouts.

The 79's have a firewall rubber grommet to pass a wire through to the fuse box where you can use any spare open slot for 12 volts. I also used a 15 amp fuse.

Barrels of fun and it's the only way to heat up slicks. You just roll through the water box at the drag strip. Then stomp on your brakes, push the Line lock button, let off the foot brake petal, put your auto tranny in second gear, and floor the gas petal while watching your tach and speedo. I actually installed a two stag rev limiter to limit my rear tire burn out wheel speed to about 90 mph. It only takes 3-4 seconds to bring your slicks up to temp on a hot track. Release the gas ans let off the Line Lock button and roll up to the staging lights.

Note the custom zip tie looms for "Taylor 409" 10.4mm wires.

C3 Vettes rock - You'll need a stiffer rear spring!!!!!!

Your method, though effective, is needlessly complex.

Just do what I do: put the nose of the car up against something solid - another car, a guardrail, a building, etc, etc - apply full throttle and sidestep the clutch.

Years ago, on my tow car on the boat ramps, I had a similar but manual line lock, pressed the brake pedal secure, push the button and it held the front calipers locked....would hold for up to 30 minits easy.....to release, just press the pedal again and it would equalize pressure to release the button...pure hydraulics...nothing electrical...

You can use a soft pillow between the nose and "something solid" to prevent nasty paint scratches

Good information. I'll be upgrading my brakes sometime in the near future. Probably be a good time to install a line lock...

Sounds fun... Heck with the drag strip,, I am thinking of a intersection at the red light while waiting for you light to turn green.
Granny in the lane to your right and some fat soccer mom with a bunch of kids in the minivan to your left..... Sure to be a crowd pleaser.....
