Default Cs alternator help

I have a overhauled CS130 alternator on my 77. I have had problems since I hooked it up with the gen light never worked so I did a bubba and wired around the light and all is fine with the voltmeter. Decided to un Bubba it and get it working to factory specs with the light in series with the gage. I have reviewed past CS threads about the wiring with the light and resistance. Looking at my alternator connector it has been using the "S" terminal for the red wire and the "F" terminal for the brown alternator wire. Some of the threads indicate using the "L" terminal to operate the light with the voltmeter. Is this correct? FYI alternator newly overhauled and is ok. New PC board. Ops check of voltmeter guaranted good. Like I said with it Bubba'd the gage works good just GEN light inop.

Default cs alt

L terminal should control light unless the alt has been converted to a 1 wire .

when I got my alternator from the wrecking yard the connector on it only used the "S" and "F" terminals so maybe I will have to get the NAPA connector with all wires attached and reposition my brown wire over to the "L" terminal. Is your car A 77 or newer with the PC board that uses the light along with the voltmeter? Like I mentioned I rewired it only to use the voltmeter and the "F" wire worked it good but I feel the need to figure this out for keeping it original. Thanks for the help.

switching brown to L term should work. If you still have original 77 plug on car I have a conversion plug that plugs into old alt plug and into cs alt. Easy and fast $10.00 + ship if you want one.

It was weird because I took the alternator and connector from the doner camaro and it only had 2 wires coming from the connector but the alternator has four prongs. I kinda of bubba'd it and was using it that way for about 1 and 1/2 years charging but no Gen light. Just got tired of it that way and wanted it done right.
