Has anyone used a marine carburetor on their NOM motor? I have a mechanical distributor, so no need for vacuum on advance. It has the correct PCV at the carb base. Any pros or cons?
Most marine carbs don't have the screw that engages the fast idle cam, since the throttle on a boat can be used to get a higher idle while the engine is warming up, and because the transmissions are designed to shift at very low RPM, so you don't want a "fast idle" setting on a marine carb.

Really? I've had quite a few boats in my lifetime and not one of them ever had a transmission. I've had jet drives, outdrives, V-drives, but never a transmission.
That must have been a real pain reversing the rotation of the engine to get the boat to go backwards. Wait, you mean you didn't have to do that? Then your boat had a transmission, unless it was direct drive. But I'm sure the original poster appreciates you using all that nautical expertise to help him out with his question.
