Hi Forum,
Can anyone identify the paint code on my '69 SB? The plate reads 988 - and the colour I would say is crimson. Is this Monza Red? Does anyone know of the closest UK colour to whatever this is so I can get an idea of how it should look? My car's been painted in sections over the years and there are slight differences in the shade.

according to my book it's burgundy. There are a couple companies that make restoration colors. Try www.TCPglobal.com They have a restoration colors section.

In 68 the 988 paint code was Cordovan maroon with the option of either black vinyl or black leather.
In 69 the 988 paint code was classified as Burgundy with black or saddle interior in either vinyl or leather.
