That would be good to know about removing the bolts.
C3guy, just curious you mention you bearings were bad? Did you have your runout checked? Or was it making noise? How many miles does your car have?
The car has 69k miles. The runout was fine. The bearing was making a gravely kind of noise, like a garage door and it was hot. I couldn't hear it driving over the exhaust but I could feel it dragging the longer I drove it. It felt like the brake was dragging but the pads were free. Once I disconnected the half shaft from the spindle flange and could spin only the wheel I could hear it. I pressure washed the underside of the car 3 years ago when I painted the frame, I may have got to close to the bearing but I can't say for sure.
Yep, possibly, The service manual does give you a lot of info about certain noises they can produce. So I guess you obviously had one of them. 69k is not a lot of miles. I have heard from some that they typically go out due to high mileage and not so much due to age. But dont quote me on that.
Well. I got my replacement TA assembly. The vendor was very prompt, they shipped it same day. It is one the car and everything looks great. I was pleased with how they handled the problem. Drove the car today, rides great. I still need to adjust the camber better. Have a few questions about this, think I will start a new thread.
