Had problems with my car running rough, changed the filters in the carb, which looked bad, one had sediment in it and added in inline filter from the tank. Now I have no spark, I tried starting it with one spark plug out grounded to the headers and there isn't any spark. Now I'm thinking that I might have an ignition problem before and that may have been part of why it wouldn't idle and it ran rough.
I have a Mallory Unilite ignition, I've removed the coil, how can I tell if the coil is bad? Where is the ignition module and how can I tell if it is bad? How hard is it to put in a new distributor, like an MSD?

Drop in an HEI, much simpler. this distributor will easily light the fire of most engines to 500 HP. MSD has one they offer. another benifit is most parts houses carry parts for the HEI that will get you goin,if your outa town.
