The master on my 71 leaks and I'd like to replace it with a modern one, preferrable aluminum with a screw top. Has anyone done that? Which one did you use? I have power brakes.
I've been seeing cars come through the auctions with the Wildwool hydroboost setup. this is a step beyond what you are asking, but the M/C is very nice looking in that setup and the big hamburger bun vacuum booster is gone.
The unpolished Wilwood MC is $200, I already checked into that. It's nice but more than I want to spend on this operation. I have no need for hydroboost.

$200 is probably the minimum you will spend on any of the billet aluminum jobs available from the various suppliers. The Wilwood is one of the better priced ones.
Do you have power or manual brakes? Wilwood also makes a MC that is cheaper with plastic reservoirs but needs to be modified (holes elongated) to fit Corvettes.

I put a C5 master cylinder on mine. Lightweight (7# lighter), inexpensive, and no rust/paint issues. Bolts right on, but some work involved. I had to shorten the pushrod, and fabricate the lines that go between the m/c (metric) and junction block (SAE).
