I left the new car out today and it rained pretty well. Checked the car a few hours later and carpets are soaked. Looks like rain got in through T-Tops. It would have be nice to be warned about leaks, wondering what else too.
Well, have to replace everything anyway, pictures look better than how interior really is.
Is there a market to sell used interior pieces that are just faded and worn (seating just has the creases not anything else)?
What can I get for used hooker headers and side pipes? They were just installed last month (not by me) and most likely have just a few hours of use. No scratches or dents (see my pics)?
How do you guys keep the factory original exhaust from rusting? I am referring to the guys who drive to and from shows and stuff but still manage to have rust free manifolds and pipes.

If the weather stripping is new on the T Tops check to see if it has folded over, that can happen when you put the tops on and it's easy to fix. If the WS is original it is probably time for a replacement. Check the rest of the weather stripping too.
You may have a water leak around the windshield and that could be a big problem, get a hose and see if you can figure out where the water comes in from.
You can take the left and right kick panels off and look in there to make sure that area is dry and rust free. PG.
I don't think there is one half-way decent weather strip anywhere on this car! The driver's side door is terrible - looks like my dog chewed it apart and the pieces glued and tossed near where they were needed. The rubber on both sides of the door glass (all over) are boogered up too.
i wouldnt think everything is ruined if she airs out real good (for like a week) then thouroghly cleaned, you get new weatherstrip for the whole car, a set is about 250 dollars, and yes u need a rubber boot around the sender

One of the biggest places these cars leak is at the body seam just below the windshield. The seam where the firewall meets the cabin just below the windshield. Look there and I'm willing to bet the original body glue has dried and cracked. Most C3's I've looked at (mine included) are cracked there and leak water through it. This is where most of the water comes in from that soaks the floarboards. Also, in the birdcage area where the speakers are (near your feet). That's another area that can leak really bad.

the rust you speak of behind the kick panels, wheres the source of that leak??
It seems like I have a leak also. Just bought the car last Wednesday and we had a heavy rain yeaterday (Thursday) and this morning I found the drivers side carpet wet. Looked under the dash and the area buy the fuse box was still a little wet. I hope it doesnt cost alot to fix.
