On a 1980 Vette, with 2005 Vortex, 350 Cube engine, I had to grind off a set of 1980 G.M. 2" C.I. manifolds, in order for them to bolt on the Heads. If I installed, a set of 1963, 300 H.P., 2 1/2 " G.M. C.I. manifolds, Would you have to Modify them, or would they fit at all??? Thanks, I Appreciate, The Help. Gene
I don't know if this tidbit will help you or not.
but, I know a guy who put vortec heads on a '78 and he used the original '78 exhaust manafolds with no problem, iirc he removed the heat riser plate as the vortec doesn't have the crossover passage.
edit , I'm thinking pre "LS " series engines

Thanks for the answer. I'm doing that now, using 1980 manifolds, but I had to grind the small casting mounts, off the back of them to make them fit. (4) Now I want to increase the flow by using the 2 1/2 " off of an 300 H.P. 1963. Have a great one. Gene
well if the 65-80 fits with minor grinding
seems like the 63-64 2.5" would also fit then .
I do have 2.5s on my '64
do a search of 2.5" manifolds to confirm
nope, have Iron eagles on a 365/327 block
vortec's were on my buddies 78. his ramhorns went right on
I don't recall any grinding , care runs nice , peppy , mild cam , automatic
