I just bought a used set of Hooker headers & side pipes.....inside those huge side pipes are little baffles, I'm assuming they're original to the side pipes.
How do I 'gut' the side pipes so I can go to another, larger baffle system?
Oh, the headers & pipes look like they're brand new (except the engine off which they came was running real rich!).
Hooker side pipes have an insert in there, it slides out. It may be stuck in there and need some help to get it out. I never removed mine so I don't have any tips other than some penitrating oil on the inside walls.

Is that all? After 20 or so taps I would have figured either my wood wasn't big enough or I wasn't banging hard enough.
Autoist, Look around the forum - I think a lot of the members have found they like the spiral inserts. Do you have sidepipes on any of your MG's? I imagine that would look pretty cool.
