I have to ask --what is the deal about changing wheels on a C3
--is it the back space ?--is it the bolt space ? or is it the size of the calipers ?---I see a ton of wheels out their priced right but scared they won't fit--hope I haven't open another can of worms--confused

I'm going down the same road myself right now. Your bolt pattern is 5 on 4 3/4 and original steel wheels are 15 inch diameter, 8 inches wide and have either 4 or 4 1/4 backspacing depending on who you ask. As soon as you change any parameter... say wheel flange thickness (alloy wheel) there can be interference problems with somewhere on the car... calipers, frame. e-brake cable etc. As the originator of many of the recent fitment questions I rely on the folks here who have hopefully fit the exact wheel so I don't end up with a set of rims which do not fit. Hope this helps!

so even with the correct bolt space--the correct diameter--and the correct back space--I still could have problems with the wheel flange thickness or whatever--this is exactly why I joined this forum--thks guys
