Default Trailing arm shim pin question

I'm going to drill the housing for the shim pins. Can someone post a pic of where they drilled? Also, do I have to worry about the trailing arm smashing the pin when the full load is removed?

TIA

I put the T/A bolt in place and then put shims in position against the inside walls of the frame pocket. This makes it (fairly) easy to locate your holes. You are drilling from the outside, and you can't really see, but you should be able to feel and visualize where to drill. I drilled 1/4" holes, and the holes in the shims are quite a bit larger, so you don't have to be perfect.

Either buy 2 sets of cotter pins or just use some safety wire to hold the shims while you are driving to the alignment shop

Oh, I thought the pin had to go on top of the shim..duh, run the pin through the shim.

Might be a good idea to invest in an A.I.M. (Assembly Instruction Manual).
