hey guys quick question, took the center dash out of my 1977 vette to cut the bezel and put in an aftermarket radio now none of the gauges work can anyone point out to me the idiot thing that I am doing to make this happen?
On my 77 there is one fuse a 10 amp marked gauges. Looking up at the fuse box it will be right bank third one from the bottom. Check it. there is also a fuse that works the clock and courtesy and cigar lighter only. It is a 20 amp fuse left bank third from the bottom. I doubt if either is your problem. You may not have your connector into the PC card in all the way. You are probably going to have to remove the cluster again and check the power and grounds going from the connector into the printed circuit board. Some are battery hot and others are ignition hot.

Looking at a fuse is not good enough you should check it with a test light but if your Gen light comes on with the key and your power windows work then the gauges fuse is OK.
As wnmech said its probably the plug in the back. Thats real easy to mess up.
Believe me you cant miss the connector. It is a 2 row vertically mounted connector that goes into the rear center of the cluster. Other than the light connector at the top of the cluster it is the only connector that goes into the 77 center cluster. If you have more troubles I currently have my center cluster back out of the car I can send you a picture.
