Turning on the computer/ startin' the thing.
I have an 82 corvette, it has been parked for fifteen years. It was parked because the suspsension was wearing out. Now there is no spark or fuel. There is power at the ignition module, there is a plug with four wires (black, orang,pink, yellow) there is no current output with the key in "on" position. The car cranks over.No evidence of chewed/damaged wires. Fuse box has no blown fuses. Is there anything else I can check or do you have any ideas? Thank you. Jusskiknit@yahoo.com

Hook a 12v test light to the "TACH" terminal at the distributor and crank it. If the light flashes, that tells the module and pickup in the distributor is OK. Pull a plug wire off at a plug, stick a plug in and ground it, and crank- see if it sparks. If not, look at the coil/cap/rotor. Take the cap off the tank, stick your ear down close and have someone turn the key on. You should hear the fuel pump run for 10-15 seconds. If not, track down the fuel system wiring or jumper the fuel pump relay to see if the pump works at all. After 15 years I'd suspect it's dead.

Do you have an engine code reader? The '82s have computers and ALDLs (assembly line diagnostic link). You can plug in your reader and scan the codes in the computer for potential problems.
