They only work upon WOT. In other words, 1% or less of all driving.
That's not true with all chips. I use the Hypertek stage 1 and it works great. Engine is stronger, smoother and much more responsive at all pedal positions. Also the torque converter lock up is finally smoothed out and only locks up after 43mph. It was worth every penny IMHO....You can even hear a difference in exhaust tone as soon as you start it up
I have to agree with hugie82. I installed the same chip in December 08 and I can't believe the differance it has made in my 1982 with 78,000 miles on it. Best money I've ever spent on this car!
