So is there a way to adjust the hood? Here is what I have my 77 hood has a great gap all the way around the hood and it fits very flush everywhere but the very end on the left side. When yo sit in the car the hood sits about 3/8" higher than the fender right at the end near the windshield. Anyone out there that ca help please post.
Thanks
I recently put an aftermarket raised L88 style hood on my 78 and went through the "adjustment" procedure. If the rear left corner is sitting higher than the fender, check to see how many spacers are between the hood and the latch (that attaches to the hood). If there are spacers in there (may be one large black one), you can loosen the 2 bolts that hold the latch to the hood (a few turns will lossen it enough to pull a spacer or two out). I actually had to add a few spacers to raise the hood.
Not sure if that's the answer for you, but it's a good place to start.
If the hood is flush at the point where the hood latches are on the side in question...there is not much you can do. You will be picking the lesser of two evils. Either the hood will be correct at the end, (where you are commenting) and then it will be low at the latch area...or correct at the latch area and high at the windshield area.
This is often due to where you pick up the hood (often times tugging on the hood at this point when it has not been released by the relaease handle...done over time) and/or the hoods' inner structure may have an issue (cracks in the understructure).
There are some thick rubber blocks that are installed in the gutter area... on the side...where your wheelhousing is bonded to the top hood surround... that make it so it will lift the hood in that area and allow the tip of the end of the hood to go down. they work fine...BUT... if your hood is flush all the way down the left side.. except for the end....than the rubber blocks will not do anything to correct this issue.
Your hood has been stressed over time and it is the way it is unless you care to apply heat and weight to it to try to put it back into shape or cut and modify it from the underside...which either are possible, but could damage paint.
"DUB"
This is my first vette it is a project car, I have never ajdusted a hood on a vette. I am not sure if parts are missing but does the hood have a side to side and a front to back adjustment? The front is low,off on right side to fender, and does not flush at back edges to fenders(maybe high)

But yes, always get a helper on the other side. And both of you should have a ratchet / socket ready to go.
