Has anyone done a conversion from manual to power brakes? If so what was involved? We are having a problem matching the length of the clevis pin(too short) and the allignment of the hole on the brake pedal lever.(too high) Any suggestions?
Power brakes have a hole 1 inch lower on the pedal then manual brakes. If this hole in not there it is a real pain to remove the beddle assembly and drill one. The clevis is also adjustable with a 3/8 24 fine thread. You should be able to just loosen the jam nut and adjust it's length.
I have converted from manual to power brakes.
Thanks Norval,
We went to look at a junk '75 w/PB and discovered that the bracket for the brake light switch is located in the upper hole whereas it is a different bracket located in the lower hole on the non PB car. We think if we switch the bracket, it will bring the clevas down and since the lower hole is more forward we will have enough length on the shaft. Thanks again.
