Parking Brake Handle Disassembly

Looking for how to take apart the handle that houses the push button. Have a 72 that the button flew off and the guy put it back on without the spring and now we can't get the button back out of it. How is button held on the trip rod. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Had the same issue. I found I was better off getting a new handle. Even back together it will have a short life.

thanks to all for your comments, I recommend to owner that we get a new handle rather than try to salvage the old one.

Mine's been broke in the exact same way for 10 years! I've always avoided buying a whole new handle just for a frickin' spring that popped out. How many folks really use their parking brake??? Maybe I should buy a new handle...but I've always found better ways to spend this $$$.
