That would scare the daylights out of me. Once the azz comes off the ground, you've got no p-brake or tranny holding the car in place. And I would not trust chocked wheels on a ramp. At the very least use a wheeled jack so it doesn't try to shove the car around, and get a buddy to sit in the car and hold the brakes down.

I run my floor jack in from the drivers side and jack up on the cross member in front of the differential.

It takes a little while longer depending on how high you need to go, and of course another set of jack stands, but ramps are too scary for the vette... I remember reading somewhere about a homemade version of the commercial drive on ramps in the pic in the above post. The looked pretty handy and you could stack them to the side when not in use. I plan on building some once i get the motor back in (so I can drive up 'em) and gain some storage underneath the car.
