Default Was caught going "Vrooom Vrooom"--Hmmm

When I got home from work tonight the UPS guy had delivered my new rear license plate bezel from ZIPS :) After tearing open the package (just like Christmas ) a super chrome polishing job and screw screw screw--WOW :D I was standing back admiring (you know the proud dad stuff) when I thought what the heck I should probably sit in it--so I did--hooked up the batt and turned on some tunes and then it happened--the Vette Gods "double dared" me, so I made a small  Vrooom Vrooom noise-- when I turned and saw my girlfriend standing there shaking her head--her exact words were I believe were "are all you Corvette guys alike?" I told here I was just clearing my throat--think she bought it? --gotta go watch the USA hockey game.

:D Loved the story. Only because I've been there. Well, I didn't get caught, but I'm admitting to it. ;) The vette had been on jackstands for quite some time awaiting parts. I just couldn't resist. She practically begged me to sit in the seat and row through the gears. :D :D :D

:yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:
You can tell her yes. When the UPS guy brought me my new steering wheel last week, I 'drove' a couple laps around the living room, complete with noises :D

Ever sit in public fake pushing the gas making revving sounds? ive dont that.

This sotry reminded me of one of my own. me and my dad had the vette on jackstands because we were doing the exaust. we were just replacing the mufflers be we figgured what the hell, take off the Y-pipe at the cat, and you dont have to sit under the car the whole time. after we get the y-pipe off, i couldnt resist. i jumped in and started the beast. it was the loudest car ive heard on the street.
well needless to say dad and i loved it. i was contiumplating taking it arround the block to let the neighborhood hear the fury, which it was 6:00 in the middle of summer, so no big deal, but then it happened. I looked up, huge grin on my face, to see mom standing there with the worst look on her face the she could create. she told me to stop shaking the house. we put the new mufflers on and all was good at home again.

i kinda forgot that the garage door was open, and the back of the car was pointed right in the house :chevy :flag

no... i dont think its possible for a vette to make fart pipe noises. maybe if you disable the left or right bank of the engine and destroke the hell out of it. but i could be wrong, when i spun the mains it sounded like a tractor.

Us Corvette guys are alike! My daughter (7years old) thinks it is neat when I pretend to be my Corvette sitting at a traffic light. You know, that deep, lopey, "antenna shaking" rumble sound.... She actually does a pretty good rendition of it as well!! :yesnod: I'm training her well!!

My wife.....she just shakes her head!! :D

I've even been known to do the burnout sound as well and the squeal in second. I like the full effect!

I've done the vroom vroom rowing through the gears imagination thing.

Heck, I DREAM about driving my car when its up on jack stands. Literally. All night. I think it's some sort of adrenaline withdrawal thing... :D

Yep, it's all the UPS driver's fault. If only those big boxes of goodies would not arrive at once. And then of course I have to open them up in the front room and visually check out how everything fits together. I usually try to get it all put away before the wife gets home, otherwise she's been known to snicker a lot as she makes a point about how "the front room is not a garage, you know.......". Geez, they just don't get life's little pleasures.
