Brakes messed up - HELP!

My 76 has front brakes only. We can bleed the rear brakes, there is pressure in the master, but when we apply the brakes only the fronts respond. Any ideas? Could this be a proportioning valve problem or does the fact that we can bleed the rear rule that out?

Are the rear brake pistons seized in the calipers. Can you move the pads back and see if the pistons move at all? If these are original calpers they might be rusted up.

the entire brake system is two years old. However it is stored over teh winters so its probably a good place to start

If the calipers are stainless steel sleeved this should not be a problem.
