Default 64cc Cylinder Head Question

I want to install a set of 64cc heads on my wife's 1976 L48. I've been searching but the ones I find do not have the accessory holes drilled in the end. As you are aware the alternator and ac compressor bolt to the heads. What casting numbers will fit my application. Thanks

You are right early GM 64cc heads do not have drilled accessory holes & really they
are NOT a good head performance wise either. There's several 64cc Alum. heads on
the market & they flow much better. They all have the accessory holes. I put Trick Flow
64cc Alum. heads on my '79 L48. They were about $950, money well spent, they perform well along with a small Hyd. cam I installed.

Many of the Stock Replacement (S/R) aftermarket iron heads have these, including the World Products S/R and S/R Torquer and I believe the Dart Iron Eagle as well.

These heads all flow slightly better than the "camel hump" heads, and with a bit of porting they can be made to flow VERY well.

There are definitely better heads for more money - it's more a question of budget than anything else

Another option, if you already have the heads, might be to go to aftermarket brackets.

March or Alan Grove.
