Default Sticky on vibration

I have been fighting vibration in my C3 for well over a year now, I have read just about everything I could find and have had lots of great input from others...I would like to make a single good thread about different causes of vibration, how they feel, and how to eliminate them. References to other threads would be ok, but to have full examples and conclusions posted here would be great. I have gone from a 100 in vibration down to about a 2.... and I want it gone also!!

Their are several different types of vibration, some directly from the engine, some from transmission, some from drive-line, wheels etc, and some form accessories such as water-pumps and fan clutches. I seem to have had them all.....

So, I will start:

Problem/Symptom:
Drive line: this was my #1 biggest vibration culprit. After changing the Transmission twice and the rear-end 4 times (I drive her hard) I had a vibration that was very prominent at speeds above ~70 all the way to ~90....

Feel:
I could feel it manly in the 4-speed shifter.

Fix:
Realigned the transmission output shaft to the rear-end pinion so as to have a Z type of offset rather than a U type of offset. This can be better explained on this thread (http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-t...o-still-2.html) and page. I was able to loose about 80% of my vibration by doing this.
